What makes freecell solitaire interesting is that most of the cards are visible from the beginning. You are not simply waiting for the perfect card to appear. Instead, you have to work with the information already sitting in front of you.
That changes everything. Every move can create an opportunity or remove one. Moving a card might uncover something useful, but it could also block another sequence that you need later. The game constantly encourages you to think beyond the move you are making right now.
