Hi everyone,
I’ve been experimenting with growing a few low-light plants (like ferns and pothos) indoors and was wondering how different levels of light intensity impact their photosynthesis efficiency. I understand that plants adapted to low light are more efficient at capturing and using light, but is there a point where increasing the intensity (like with grow lights) no longer benefits them, or even harms them?
For example:
- Is there an optimal range of light intensity I should aim for?
- Would too much light cause photorespiration or stress, even if the light isn’t particularly intense compared to high-light plants?
- Are there tools or methods you recommend for measuring and adjusting light levels effectively? retro bowl
I’d love to hear from anyone with experience growing low-light plants or knowledge of photosynthesis science! Thanks in advance!
