So here's my situation, I found a decent deal on some used upright frames from a warehouse that was closing down, but they didn't have the horizontal beams or wire decks included. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can just buy new beams from a different manufacturer and expect them to fit properly. I'm looking at getting a medium duty racking system for my new storage area and I don't want to end up with something unsafe just because I tried to save a few dirhams. The uprights I have are about 2.4 meters tall with standard looking teardrop punched holes, but I know some brands use slightly different spacing or hole shapes that look similar but don't actually lock in securely. Has anyone successfully mixed brands before? I'm worried about the beams popping out if the fit isn't perfect, especially when loaded with heavy boxes. Would I be better off just selling the used frames and buying a complete matching set from one supplier? Or is there a universal standard that most manufacturers follow? Appreciate any advice from people who've tried this.
