I've owned my Lexus LS460 for almost four years now and it has been the most reliable car I've ever had, honestly never gave me any trouble until recently. But about two weeks ago I started noticing something really strange. Every morning when I come out to my parking spot, the front of the car is sitting much lower than it should be, almost like the suspension has collapsed overnight. Then when I start the engine, I hear the air compressor kick in and after a minute or two the car raises back up to normal height and drives perfectly fine for the rest of the day. The next morning, same thing happens again. I took it to a general garage and the mechanic there said I probably have a small leak in one of the air suspension struts, but he also said that Lexus parts are expensive and that I might be looking at 8,000 to 10,000 dirhams to fix it properly. That's a huge amount of money for me right now and I'm not even sure if his diagnosis is correct because he didn't do any real testing, he just guessed based on what I described. A friend of mine who drives a Lexus as well told me I should find a proper Lexus repair service in Abu Dhabi instead of trusting a general mechanic who might not understand the air suspension system on these cars. Has anyone else experienced this overnight dropping issue on their LS460 or any other Lexus with air suspension? Is it definitely the struts that need replacing or could it be something smaller like a faulty height sensor or a leak in an air line? And if I keep driving the car like this without fixing it, will I damage the air compressor or other components and end up with an even bigger bill? I really love this car and I want to keep it for many more years but I also can't afford to throw ten thousand dirhams at a problem if there's a cheaper fix available. Any advice from Lexus owners who have been through this would mean the world to me.
