I was in a small urology department that continued to lag in collection despite an average number of patients. During the process of the workflow review, we understood that urology billing services consisted of less rapid claims submission and more of the correct claims submission. We began monitoring the trends of denial per week and explaining the paperwork before filing. That alone reduced rework. I would like to know what other people have done practically to make billing in the urology environment less daunting.
